Friends, I have some very big news.
A couple months ago, some of you noticed that my publication date changed from July 16th to August 1. There’s a fantastic reason for this, which I can now finally share.
My publication date changed because THE EDITORS AT AMAZON HAVE CHOSEN MY DEBUT NOVEL, FRIENDS WITH SECRETS AS AN AMAZON FIRST READS PICK!!!
Only six or eight books are chosen each month from across all genres and it’s a HUGE honor to be selected. I still can't believe they picked my book. My agent told me it's like being struck by lightning.
The Amazon editors who selected it say this: "Sex, lies, and minivans. Friends with Secrets, a novel of unlikely allies, takes the reader into the secret lives of mom, showing that you never know what's really going on beneath the surface...and that even the most perfect facade can have a cracked foundation."
Previous First Reads picks include novels like The Bad Weather Friends by Dean Koontz and Lovers at the Museum by Isabel Allende. And now...Friends with Secrets by Christine Gunderson. I still can't believe it.
This means that Amazon Prime members everywhere can download my book and another Amazon First Reads novel for free during the month of July. So if you have Prime, you can read Friends with Secrets for free, a month before it's officially released.
Here’s the link to Amazon First Reads if you’d like to download the e-book version of Friends with Secrets for free.
If you do download and read it early, I’d be grateful if you’d consider leaving a short review on Amazon to help others discover Friends with Secrets as they head to the beach or the airport for vacation.
And if you've already ordered the e-book, the audio book, or a print copy, you will still receive Friends with Secrets on publication day on August 1.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for the years of support and encouragement that made this incredible thing possible.
I am continually amazed by what can happen when we refuse to give up on the things we love, when we ignore the harsh whisper that says we're wasting our time, being impractical, going nowhere, and achieving nothing, when we block out the voice that tells us we really should be cleaning the bathroom instead of writing, creating, or doing what we love.
We emphatically should not be cleaning the bathroom. In the immortal words of Journey: "Don't stop believin.'"
And never, never, never give up.
With love and deep gratitude for all your support,
Christine
