Hear, hear! I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on finding value and how we've cheapened experiences by needing to document them for others. (I'm guilty too!). Maybe it's because I too remember taking my 6 precious rolls of film on a trip along with my camera, and when they were done, they were done. Sadly though, I can't remember my gondola ride anymore because I was only eight or nine at the time...alas. LOL.
I am thinking about giving up my phone entirely for the month of January. Still trying to figure out how people (my kids) could reach me in an emergency but I'm just tired of that device and everything it represents. I just want to be FREE. And now, the tired and slightly bitter anti-AI Gen Xer will step down from her soap box...
