I really enjoyed this! You might enjoy the movie Good Fortune (2005). I saw it on a plane this weekend and it’s very much aligned with this message and has Keanu Reeves :)
So true Christine! When I or friends or my daughters experience a big disappointment, like not getting that dream job, house or even a heartbreak, I try to remind myself and them that as so often happens, in fact almost always happens, in six months we'll likely look back and think, I'm so glad I didn't take that job/buy that house/stick with that jerky BF, because I wouldn't have found the better job/house/guy or whatever it is. Life is funny that way, and true contentment comes from inside, not out. This terrific piece is a great reminder of that, thank you!
I am always telling my kids some version of this :-) And I think the best thing about getting older is finally having the wisdom (and experience) to believe this myself :-)
Thank you Eileen. I'm trying hard to do all the promotional things and some of them are really fun, like podcasts, but I still wish we lived in a world where we could just retreat to a cave and write our books and that's IT.

I have never heard of this one? I will check it out! Hope all is well with you :-)
So great to chat over breakfast at the WFWA conference last week and to have won a copy of your new book at the dinner!
So true and so relatable, Christine. Great reminders and quotes-that are going onto my refrigerator today!
I'm pretty sure the meaning of life is encapsulated somewhere on a refrigerator magnet :-)
